Introduction:
Nombu kanji/Nonbu kanji is a porridge made with rice, lentils,
vegetables and spices..This kanji is popular in South India especially in the
states of TamilNadu and Kerala. Nombu kanji is usually served during the holy
month of Ramadan in the evenings when Muslims break their day long fast...This
makes a sumptuous, fulfilling, healthy breakfast or lunch not only during the
holy month but throughout the year...This recipe, is a non veg version of Nombu
kanji....For veg version just skip minced meat..Vadai, samosa and bajji are
usually served as accompaniment to Nombu kanji...I served it with falafel
