Introduction:
Hot, creamy and chocolaty homemade
hot chocolate. A combination of chocolate, cocoa powder, cream and milk make
this hot chocolate delicious. Hot chocolate is different from hot cocoa. Hot
chocolate is made with actual chocolate, whereas hot cocoa is made only with
cocoa powder. So it is a little thin compared to the rich and creamy hot
chocolate. Semi -sweet chocolate is usually added but you can try making hot
chocolate with milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate .Serve with your
favourite garnishes -grated or chopped chocolate, cocoa powder, whipped cream,
marsh mellows...But I like my cup of hot chocolate with a little fresh
cream....Do enjoy this beverage as an evening drink...

Ingredients:

Milk (full fat)
|
2 cups
|
Sugar
|
3 tbsp
|
Grated chocolate
(Preferably dark chocolate)
|
2 tbsp
|
Cocoa powder
|
1 tbsp
|
Cream
|
2 tbsp
|
Garnish:
|
|
Grated chocolate
|
optional
|
Fresh cream
|
optional
|
Method:
Pour milk in a saucepan and place
it over low heat
Whisk in sugar, cocoa powder, grated
chocolate and cream
Continue to whisk, taking care -
no lumps are formed
Chocolate melts. When it starts
to simmer
Switch off the flame (do not
allow it to boil)
Pour into your favourite glass
and garnish with fresh cream and grated chocolate
Hot chocolate is ready to serve
Notes:
You can add a splash of vanilla
essence as soon as you remove the hot chocolate from heat
Garnishing is optional. It tastes
great on its own.
I have used low fat cream. You
can use medium fat cream or heavy cream
