Mango Sago/Mango Sago pudding/Mango javvarisi pudding

Mango Sago is a sweet and creamy summer dessert..It is the easiest and simplest dessert you can make with just 5 ingredients...Mango is in season ,so do try to make this popular dessert at home....

Serves: 3
Ingredients:

Sago/Javvarisi/Sabudana
 1/3 cup
Water              
 2 cups
Mangoes (ripe)
1 and 1/2 cups chopped
Sugar              
 6 to 7 tsp
Milk     
 2 tbsp
Coconut milk
2 tbsp
Garnishing:

Mangoes
 1/4 cup chopped
Coconut milk or milk
 2 tbsp

 Method:
  1. Take water in a sauce pan and heat it. When it starts to boil add sago/javvarisi/Sabudana and boil for 5 to 7 mins (medium flame).Stir occasionally
  2. Switch off heat .Cover and soak it for 15 min .After 15 min sago is cooked and turns transparent
  3. Drain and rinse with water. Keep it aside
  4. In a blender jar add chopped mangoes, sugar, milk and coconut milk .Blend until smooth
  5. Transfer to a bowl and add cooked sago/javvarisi. Mix well and chill it for at least 1 hour 
  6. If you feel the mix is a bit thick you can add 1 or 2 tsp coconut milk or milk
  7. Serve in individual bowls and garnish with chopped mangoes
  8. Drizzle milk or coconut milk on top and serve

Notes:
  • Use mangoes that are fully ripe and fibreless
  • You can skip milk and add 1/4 cup of coconut milk
  • It is ok if you see white dots(in the middle) in few of the cooked sago /javvarisi ,but if most of them are not cooked properly you can add two cups of hot boiling water to it ,cover and soak  for another 10 mins
  • Adjust consistency by adding more milk or coconut milk (if needed)
