Aval paal/ Aval milkshake/ Flattened rice milk



Introduction:

Aval pal is an easy to make healthy drink .Aval or flattened rice is rich in healthy carbohydrates. It is an easily digestible form of rice. And with milk, banana and nuts it tastes great. Aval paal is different from Aval paal payasam often make this at home and it is my kid’s favourite drink. Even though it is a drink, it can served for breakfast, by adding more Aval, dried fruits and nuts. Those who love cornflakes in milk (kind of breakfast) will surely enjoy this Aval paal. Ingredients:


Aval/flattened rice/ poha
4 tbsp
 Milk
1 cup
 Banana (medium)
1 chopped
 Horlicks or any health drink
1 tbsp
 Sugar
1 tbsp
 Almond/Badam
3(sliced)

Method:

  1. Boil and cool milk
  2.  Dry roast Aval in a pan until crisp (2 min)
  3. In a blender jar add chopped bananas, sugar, Horlicks/any health drink and milk
  4. Blend it until chunky or smooth
  5. Take a tall glass or jug add 3tbsp of Aval
  6. Top it with the milk mix
  7. Garnish with 1tbsp Aval and sliced almonds
  8. Aval pal is ready to serve


Notes:
  • You can replace sugar with brown sugar or honey
  • Adjust sweetness according to taste
  • You can add crushed peanuts instead of Badam/almonds
  • You can add dried fruits and nuts
