Banana chocolate lassi


Facts:

Lassi is a cooling and refreshing drink popular in India and neighbouring countries. Traditionally lassi is a savory drink made with curd/yogurt mixed with salt and spices.  The classic sweet lassi is famous all over the world. There are other  popular  variations like rose, mango, kesar.......And for those who like to experiment  there are endless ingredients - fruits, chocolates ,spices, herbs..... 

Introduction:

Besides classic lassi, my all time favourite is mango lassi. When mango is not in season, I whip up this delicious drink with my favourite fruits. One such lassi is "Banana chocolate lassi"(a stunner).Those who love bananas will enjoy this drink. If you are not a fan of bananas replace it, with fruits of your choice. (Avocado,lychee,orange, berries...)



                Banana chocolate lassi

Ingredients:

Curd/yogurt
1
Banana(medium)
1 sliced or cubed
Chocolate (or)cocoa powder
 2 tbsp
Brown sugar
5 tsp
Ice cubes
 4 or 5

Garnishing:

Grated chocolate
1/2 tsp
Sliced almonds

Method:

  1. In a blender jar add ice cubes, bananas,Grated chocolate or cocoa powder,brown sugar and half of the curd.
  2. Blend everything together until smooth.
  3. Add the remaining curd and blend again.
  4. Your refreshing banana chocolate lassi is ready.
  5. Garnish with grated chocolate and sliced almonds.
  6. Enjoy your drink.

Notes:

  • You can replace brown sugar with white sugar or honey.
  • Just skip sugar,if you want a sugar free version.
  • If the curd/yogurt is sour, replace ice cubes with chilled milk.
  • Full fat curd gives a creamier and tastier lassi.
